Why Greece should move the government to the Internet

Greek government: do what you promise to change and improve

Whether you live in Greece or not, I believe that you might want to push these ideas onto the desk of your politicians and the Council of Economic Advisers.

Anyone that believes that cutting jobs will save money rather than increasing the prospects of market competition is not a positive thinker.  There is tons of work out there for improvement but there is a failure to acknowledge it.

Reducing costs to allow money to be used elsewhere means that productivity can be increased while not sacrificing jobs.

Customer satisfaction has long been the Holy Grail for retailers. So shouldn’t governments implement citizen satisfaction?

The people pay a fortune to the government and are not asking the government to improve Citizen Satisfaction, demand it.

If the government wants to create more jobs that can be monitored to guarantee that work is performed, then they must implement the methods that provide direct communication with citizens that provide feedback for the work performed.

The government must monitor the work performance of public employees and projects to track information regarding public spending that can be analyzed to show the: who, what, where, when, and why and cost of every unit of taxable services.

Create an architecture that is world wide oriented to implement a better and universal approach in defining the government of the future.

We no longer live in the middle ages and even the smallest personal computer today has enormous capabilities to support today’s information needs even with a minimal ADSL Internet connection speed.

Ten (10) Points To A Better Government For The People Should Include:

  • Social Helpfulness
  • Transparency and Honesty
  • Standardize and document facts and laws
  • Deliver beyond promises
  • Keep things simple
  • Track changes made by the government
  • Monitor work execution for accountability
  • Time is everything today
  • Increase telework and telecommuting
  • Multi language advantage
