We the people of Greece

Democracy dies at 51%Yesterday night Mr. Alexis Papahelas, a investigative journalist for the Kathimerini newspaper, gave Mr. Konstantinos Mitsotakis, an ex-prime minister of Greece and ex-president of New Democracy, the limelight to discuss the current events of Greece and the financial crisis on the Skai television channel.

It was appalling to hear Mr. Mitchotakis blame the Greek people for their troubles while at the same time accepting in soft tones the blame for the current system which he and Andreas Papandreou, the father of George Papandreou the current prime minister of Greece, developed that promoted the corruption of the people.

The truth is that during that time period, yes the people of Greece had to make a choice between two political parties, that of Pasok or New Democracy, but that choice was in itself a farce because the same politicians also created a law that stated that everyone that had a right to vote must vote under the penalty of imprisonment for failure to do so.

You may ask yourself, okay so they had to vote, so why not simply place a blank vote?
That too was fixed so that the political party with the most votes would also receive the blank votes in their favor.

While many believe that they have freedom, they are falsely led into democratic dictatorships that will become legal with fifty-one percent of the vote.

Mr. Theodoros Pangalos, and whose grand-father was known as a “constitutional dictator” the current vice president, has once again unjustifiably insulted the people of Greece indignant because of their “vindictive” mass rallying in Syntagma or Constitution Square as it is known in English, while the government continues to reduce salaries and pensions instead of assailing the tax evaders who continue looting the government or imprisoning politicians that have been plundering the country wealth from their positions of authority.

The “indignant” Greek people are now realizing that there is no reset button in life that can easily be pressed to escape the mistakes of the past.
