Peter's Viewpoint
The proverbial political chicken or the egg
I think that observing the economic crisis from outside the country that you live is generally much easier than trying to see what is happening within the same country, but not impossible.
As the sins of the father’s continue to be paid now in euros by the grand parents, parents, children, and children’s children, categorizing the politicians over the last 25 years has become the status quo. The categorization by outsiders of the laziness of the Greek people however, is indeed delusive because it is the fault of Greek leadership that created the system that exists today. Therefore it is the egg that was congenital to the culture and mindset that now plagues Greece with failure.
After contemplating the actions of the political parties of both the United States and Greece, I believe that it the prerogative of the people to place restrictions on the leadership of their countries and that the people must once again assert this right. It is the same prerogative that created the United States in it’s inception by the people.
We all have some idea as to how the president of the USA is required to submit possible actions to congress. Similarly, the prime minister of Greece hypothetically declares acts of intentions, but as we have seen in recent years, country leaders and their advisors have made decisions that have negatively affected the entire population of their country.
What we are not seeing is the punishment of those leaders that have clearly abused the system. Abusing the system is also non-performance; by allowing others to use the system in the absence of the authority elected or in power, adverse consequences can be regarded as committing the crime while someone else shoots the gun.
Terrorism is not the enemy, corruption and bad leadership are. There will always be a thin line between terrorism and patriotism even when the effects cross borders.
It is time to define the path that all countries must take for the progress of each country and its people to advance along parallel equalities.
By doing so, only then can the abuse of countries facing humanitarian needs stop their marketing of human suffering towards western countries for aid while the same countries.
Demand political justice to remind your leaders of their responsibilities and to compel them towards the common goal of equal societies as reciprocation for globalization.
