Imposing responsibility upon the people
The Greek elections are over for the moment.
Although the major parties of Pasok and New Democracy celebrate their victories, yes Greek politicians fantasize very well or use hallucinatory drugs; the problems of the economy prevail due to the inability of the people to accept that they have a responsibility to prevent what is happening.
I posed a hypothetical question the other day as to whether a Greek would prefer to loose a home or loose the ownership of the Acropolis of Athens in the event of a country bankruptcy.
The first response is a composite that why should any foreigner take over the Acropolis. I rephrased the question again by saying that ownership would remain that of Greece but all tourist income would be collected by the foreign government or company to recuperate the country debt for the next 50 to 100 years.
The answer was as I assumed it would be, that the majority of the people have not received any of the money from the politicians and therefore the Greek people do not acknowledge any participation toward responsibility. The fact that we know Greece historically and that the people lived in shanty homes even in the fifties whereas the majority of the population today not only own one home but also country or island homes and plots of land is never considered as to where the money to do so came from.
I believe that it is time that a relative question be put forward not only to the people of Greece but to the people in every country of the world. This might be the only way to push the role of responsible citizens upon the people to forcibly acknowledge the meaning that will make help their societies to crush corruption.
When and if the question of bankruptcy becomes a reality, then I believe that politicians will either suddenly find missing wealth to save the country or prepare to meet their maker.
A trial by jury is deemed justice to those that play fairly, according to the consensus.
A swift execution is deemed justice to those that do not, according to the consensus.
