VARIOUS S/W TOOLS & UTILITIES
Ssome may think that the Windows programs have everything they need but this is never true and as most know every version of Windows has
been deprecated because it has been released with bugs or program code errors.
This has been the delight of many software houses that create programs to fulfill the short-comings especially for viruses and utilities.
Some areas that have been enhanced by 3rd party software are:
- disk drive cleaning and defragmentation
- file compression
- registry repair, cleaning, and optimizers
- system and desktop tweaks
- networking utilities
- internet browsers and email programs
- other accessories and features
and any others that make users more productive.
Everyone will install something that did not come with Windows at some point. It's like a Peter Principle.
It is always a good idea to use the Windows Restore program function to create a a Restore Point.
Start Programs Accessories System Tools System Restore. Select Create a Restore Point, enter a description
such as the name of the program that you are installing and that will save you hours of headaches in case the program
that you are installing has a problem because then you can restore to the moment before the installation like nothing happened.
If you don't like the program, never simply delete it because Windows will not do it properly unless you UNINSTALL it and you will
simply accumilate files on your system that will just take up hard disk space.
To uninstall, look for the folder that was created under the START button and once you found the program select uninstall if it offers
the option, otherwise you will have to use the Windows Programs Uninstall facility found in Start Control Panel.
