EMAIL SYSTEM DESIGNS Email and the Global MarketThe following information does not pertain only to the local market, but to any and every business that will make use of the Internet.The Greek market has been slow to use the Internet and this is due to many reasons but one of the failures of many Greek websites is the poor use of email accounts. The following information should help you understand what your web design company should be providing and how to make the most of it. On many Greek websites, visitors will find that when they need to contact someone at the website, they will usually find only one email account, info @ somesite.gr or even worse info @ yahoo.gr or something to that effect. Email accounts at personal and company websites are freely available and should be used by a company as an indication of it's structure. The creation of email accounts are the minimum that any web creation company should do to professionally display that a company has an internal structure. On the company side, one of the most important aspects of having a domain name and therefore website is the individualized email account that will be maintained by the company so that in the event they choose to use a different ISP (Otenet, Forthnet, Vivodi, Vodafone) they don't have to change email addresses or notify customers. In other words using: info @ mycompany is better than changing info @ otenet to info @ vivodi to whatever every time you change an Internet provider. This of course assumes that you do not have an in-house Internet server.
